20 October - Radical Trauma Release Workshop, New Plymouth
What if we’ve gotten it all wrong?
What if it’s not about trying to treat our depression with medication?
What if it’s not about trying to breathe our way through our anxiety?
What if it’s not about identifying with labels like addict and alcoholic and bulimic and anorexic?
What if it’s our collection of unresolved traumas, stresses and tensions, whether major or minor, that’s making us feel so uncomfortable in our lives?
What if it’s our trapped trauma that triggers us into feeling depressed, anxious and craving external relief?
The events of our lives leave physiological imprints in our bodies, especially when we experience trauma or situations of extreme stress that cause the body to fight, flee, or freeze in order to cope.
We are not taught how to release our trauma as it arises. Instead, we carry our stress, anxiety, and trauma around with us every day and use food, alcohol and other addictive behaviours to soothe ourselves and quiet the emotional discomfort.
In a safe and nurturing container we will dive deep and explore:
Why this workshop matters...
Too many of us suffer because we carry around trapped trauma in our bodies and don’t know how to release it. Many of us don't even realise that unresolved trauma is the real reason why we feel distorted, out of ease, tired and unhappy.
The paradox of trauma - it has both the power to destroy and the power to transform and resurrect. Whether trauma will be a cruel punishment or a vessel to access transformation and mastery, depends on how we approach it. Trauma is a fact of life. It does not have to be a life sentence. With guidance and support we can shake and tremble ourselves back to life. We can move through trauma and transform it.
This workshop can be a good place to start or deepen your understanding of yourself and your behaviours. It's open to anyone who has the desire to claim their power and integrate the fragmented pieces of themselves so that they can show up as sovereign beings who have agency over their life. It's for those who want to feel safe again - in their bodies and their life.
When we feel safe enough to gently release our trauma it activates our body’s incredible self healing mechanisms. This workshop is about safety and empowerment. When we feel safe, for a moment, our bodies relax. Our central nervous system resets and regulates itself. This incredible self-healing mechanism transforms how we experience our minds, bodies and lives. It shifts how we relate to our environment. It changes how we view our circumstances. This is liberating.
Gift yourself four hours to reconnect, receive and release. Take this time to care, for yourself. Experience, for a moment, what emotional freedom feels like.
'Trauma is neither a disease nor a disorder. It is an injury caused by fright, helplessness and loss that can be healed by engaging our innate ability to self-regulate high states of arousal and intense emotions. When we bring together our animal instinct and reason, we can become more whole human beings' - P Levine
Releasing your trauma matters. It is the most powerful thing you could do to support yourself, your family, your community and the collective consciousness of this planet.
You will never regret releasing your trauma.
